2025-26 Mainstage Auditions
ACT Mainstage productions are held over two days. Sign up for an audition time by filling out the audition form linked under each show’s information. Walk-ups are always welcome! Walk-ups will be asked to wait until the next available time slot.
Audition Workshop
ACT’s Audition Workshops are designed to give you a head start on your next Mainstage audition. These workshops are an open and inclusive environment, aiming to empower and excite everyone who participates. We focus on boosting your confidence and helping you feel prepared and enthusiastic about auditioning. Workshop participation is not required to audition.

ACT provides audition song options for each Mainstage season show. We choose a number of songs from the show. From this list, please select the song that best showcases your voice and talent. The tracks will be linked under each show’s information. Until we post the list of songs, feel free to listen to the whole show and get familiar with the music!
Character Insights
Not sure which role is right for you? ACT will provide a brief description, vocal range, and age range for each character to help you find the best fit for your voice and strengths. We encourage you to audition for any role you feel is right for you! Casting is open to all, and we welcome performers of all genders, ethnicities, ages, and body types. The character insights will be linked under each show’s information.

About The Show
Break out your leather jackets and dust off your saddle shoes – it’s time to get back to Rydell High! Grease brings the Pink Ladies and T-Birds to life in this action packed, rock-n-roll musical. Featuring hit songs like “Summer Nights”, “Beauty School Drop-Out”, “Greased Lightning”, “Hopelessly Devoted to You”, and “We Go Together”, this beloved musical is a celebration of teen spirit. Youth Auditions
Youth Productions
This an immersive performance workshop that is specially tailored for young artists who aspire to learn and grow in the performing arts. At the First Cast Meeting, students will be taught a dance combination and song to take home and practice for auditions and parents will receive comprehensive information about the entire Youth Production process.
These auditions are not open to the general public. Students must be signed up in advance.

Tanglewood Summer Musicals
Best described as Summer Stock for Youth, Summer Musicals are fast-paced, energetic rehearsal days that culminate in six public performances on the last two days of camp! With songs, dances, and hilarious material great for performers of all ages, the Summer Musical is sure to be an unforgettable experience!
These auditions are not open to the general public. Students must be signed up in advance.
Tanglewood Teens
Tanglewood Teens is an exciting year-long program catering exclusively to high school students with a passion for the performing arts. This is audition-based performance troupe that provides a unique platform for young performers to receive top-level training in acting, singing, dancing, and the performing arts. This inclusive program is designed to develop artistic abilities as well as foster teamwork, discipline, and confidence. With opportunities to showcase their skills on the stages at Asheville Community Theatre and community events, Tanglewood Teens promises to be a transformative journey of artistic growth, camaraderie, and unforgettable experiences.
Auditions for the 2025-26 Tanglewood Teens will take place in August 2025.
The Autumn Players – Readers Theatre Showcase
For Readers Theatre Showcase auditions, there’s no need to make an appointment – we will get you signed in when you arrive! Expect to read from the script. Prepare for your audition by reading the script beforehand. Auditions, rehearsals and performances typically take place during the afternoon.

Character Descriptions:
- MEG – smart, sassy, confident; highly educated daughter of Sir Thomas More, mischievous, lively and reflective; age 18-25.
- SIR THOMAS MORE – highly principled English lawyer, judge, social philosopher, author, statesman, middle aged, slight of stature, scrawny in build;
- CROMWELL – A pleasant looking middle-aged man, also slight in stature; betrays More for his own political gain
- WILLIAM ROPER – Young, juvenilely attractive “Village Idiot”, age 18-25 with a slight stammer; He matures across the arc of the play.
- ALICE MORE – Plump, middle-aged housewife, Meg’s step-mother
My Three Angels

Character Descriptions:
- Felix Ducotel – Late 50’s-early 60’s. Manager of a general store in Cayenne in French Guiana. Felix is a thoroughly amiable and impractical soul.
- Emilie Ducotel – Mid-50’s. Wife of Felix. Practical, insightful and long–suffering. She is patient with her husband because she loves him.
- Marie Louise Ducotel – 20-22. Daughter to Felix and Emilie Ducotel. Attractive and slightly quirky, she has been pining for a proposal from Paul who is leading her on.
- Mme. Parole – 50’s. An imposing but slightly scatterbrained matron who frequents Felix‘s shop but never quite gets around to paying her bill.
- Paul- Mid to late 20’s. Nephew of Henri. A cold blooded cad who is jilting Marie Louise for an heiress.
- Henri – Late 50’s-early 60’s. The dastardly, unscrupulous cousin of Felix. He set Felix up in business but now hopes to take over the store by nefarious means.
- Joseph – 60’s. A convict. He has been sent to prison for swindling naïve stockholders. Poses as a repairman to hide in Felix’s shop with Jules and Alfred.
- Jules – 60’s. A convict. Sent to prison for murdering his cheating wife. Poses as a repairman to hide in Felix’s shop with Joseph and Alfred.
- Alfred – Mid to late 20’s. A convict. Money was the motive for his particular murder and ensuing incarceration. Poses as a repairman to hide in Felix’s shop with Jules and Joseph.
- Lieutenant – Mid to late 20’s. Arrives unexpectedly with a letter of introduction for Felix. A possible candidate for Marie Louise’s affections.
- *Paul and the Lieutenant can be played by the same actor.
