Our Character Insights is designed to help you prepare for Little Shop of Horrors Auditions with confidence. Each character card includes a brief description, vocal range, and age range to help you find the best fit for your voice and strengths. We encourage you to audition for any role you feel is right for you! Casting is open to all, and we welcome performers of all genders, ethnicities, ages (16+) and body types.

ENSEMBLE
Character Age: 16+
Vocal Range: All vocal types
The residents of Skid Row who bring the story to life – including the roles of Mr. Bernstein, Mrs. Luce, Customer, Radio Announcer and more.

SEYMOUR KRELBORN
Character Age: 18-30s
Vocal Range: A2-G4
An insecure, put-upon florist’s clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills.
*Will engage in moments of physical intimacy (kissing) depending on the needs of the scene and actor’s comfort levels.

AUDREY
Character Age: 18-30s
Vocal Range: G#3-D5
Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour’s life. She has poor self-worth and education, but a sweet and vulnerable demeanor.
*Will engage in moments of physical intimacy (kissing) and depictions of domestic violence depending on the needs of the scene and actor’s comfort levels.

MR. MUSHNIK
Character Age: 50s-60s
Vocal Range: G2-F4
The seasoned owner of the failing flower shop and Seymour’s nosy boss. He is profit-driven and manipulative.

ORIN SCRIVELLO
Character Age: 30s-40s
Vocal Range: G2-G4
An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey’s abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour.

CRYSTAL, RONNETTE & CHIFFON
