A Fond Farewell to Education Director Amanda Klinikowski

Our education program is one of the beloved pillars of the Asheville Community Theatre. Over the last four years, Education Director Amanda Klinikowski has made ACT a safe, fun, and memorable space for so many children and teens. Amanda has decided to move on to her next adventure and will be leaving ACT. Amanda says:

Creative experiences and theatrical exploration have the power to connect us all and help us heal. This work is especially important for young creators to experience. I’ve been privileged to meet and teach hundreds of wonderful students in my time at ACT. I have worked hard to create an inclusive and empowering culture for the Education Program and to fully accept every creator that walks through our doors. I’ve watched them discover their inherent self-worth, develop transformative relationships with fellow creators, and express every aspect of their identities. My biggest hope is that creators continue to feel safe, empowered, and valued here. I know ACT will thrive and continue to nurture young artists for years to come.

Amanda’s last day will be August 19th. We have so much gratitude for Amanda and her time and dedication to our education program. We know the big impact she has made on so many families in her time here. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors!

We’re excited to share that ACT familiar face Michael Jorizzo will be stepping in as the interim Education Director while we search for a full time team member. Michael directed “The Giver” on the Mainstage last season and has directed multiple youth productions. He has been on the summer camp staff all summer and is looking forward to continuing to get to know all the families that are a part of ACT!

Be assured that we will keep you updated with plans for moving forward.
