What is the ACT Associate Board?
The ACT Associate Board is a group of 25 emerging professionals, ages 21-40, who want to grow their skills, be part of a thriving legacy organization, build meaningful connections, and make a difference in their community.
Members gain hands-on experience in leadership, event planning, fundraising, and non-profit service while working alongside ACT staff, board members, and fellow young professionals. Together, they will play an active role in shaping the next generation of leadership at Asheville Community Theatre and Western North Carolina.
Why join?
The ACT Associate Board is a chance to invest in your community while investing in yourself!
- Opening Night is on us! Enjoy two complimentary tickets to every Mainstage and ACT Late Night performance. One for you and one to introduce a friend, colleague, or professional connection to ACT.
- Learn from the people in the room. A different ACT Board member and staff member joins every monthly meeting, giving you direct access to experienced leaders and a front row seat to the inner workings of a thriving non-profit organization.
- Build skills by actually using them. Grow your experience in fundraising, marketing, event planning, budgeting and leadership in a creative, supportive environment where your ideas can become something real.
- Get invited. Enjoy complimentary admission to ACT’s biggest party of the year, our annual Spring Fundraiser, featuring live performances from Broadway artists and some of our community’s favorite performers. Plus other opportunities to experience ACT throughout the year.
- Plan a party. Dream up and create the Associate Board’s signature summer event on August 21, 2027. From the theme and entertainment to food, drinks, decor, venue, and the overall experience.
- Have a seat at the table. Officers will receive an ex-officio representation on ACT’s Board of Directors, creating direct connection between emerging leaders and ACT’s organizational leadership.
- Leave your mark. For 80 years, generations of artists, volunteers, and community leaders have each left their mark on ACT and helped shape what it is today. Now it’s your turn to become part of that legacy and help write the next chapter of this story.
