Easy Street (ACT’s Spring Fundraiser)
Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 7:00 PM
Location: The Venue at 21 N. Market Street Asheville
Lean in close and follow the signal. On May 30th, Asheville Community Theatre is opening a quiet door at The Venue on North Market Street for a night that’s strictly hush-hush and plenty hotsy-totsy.
$100 clams gets you past the bull and into a juice joint that’s running smooth: supper laid out right, door prizes with some bite, auction goods worth a second look, and a live band keeping the joint humming. We’re flying in Broadway’s own Ben Cameron straight from the Big Apple, with a mystery guest in tow—pure dynamite, no baloney.
This caper’s ACT’s spring fundraiser, clean as a whistle but nowhere near square. Flappers, molls and owls, all welcome—so long as you look keen and carry yourself like you belong. Whether you’re dolled up, feeling nifty, or just passing as spiffy, nobody’s counting buttons. So don’t high-hat it. Slip down Easy Street, raise a glass, and help keep the joint jumping. It’s all Jake, baby—now you’re on the trolley.
About the performers:
Ben Cameron is a Broadway veteran flying in straight from the Big Apple. He appeared in the original Broadway casts of Footloose, Aida, and a little show called Wicked. If you listen closely to the second track of the Wicked cast album, you’ll hear Ben deliver the pivotal line, “Glinda, is it true you were her friend?” Expect a performance that’s pure dynamite and no baloney.
A special guest joins the evening for an extra spark of surprise. Details coming soon.
