Congratulations to David Dowd!
We are thrilled to share the good news that David Dowd has been awarded Bank of America’s Global Volunteer Award! Bank of America’s Global Volunteer Awards recognize exceptional volunteers who help impact communities through exceptional volunteerism. On average, Bank of America employees volunteer a total of two million hours a year to strengthen communities and deliver on the commitment to drive responsible growth. This year, more than 1,300 teammates from all lines of business and around the globe were nominated for a Global Volunteer Award and 1,150 applications were submitted. Seventy-five employee volunteers were selected for this prestigious honor – and David was one of them!
David has volunteered with ACT for many years, giving his time and talent in lots of different ways. From appearing onstage (pictured here in Crimes of the Heart and The Great American Trailer Park Musical) to building and striking sets to lending his expertise on our Finance Committee, David gives to ACT in so many ways. And we’re not the only place in town where he gives his time – he’s also active with LEAF, Manna Food Bank, and the United Way.
All Global Volunteer Award recipients receive a $1,000 grant to direct to an eligible nonprofit of their choice. We are so grateful that David directed this grant to ACT, where it will be used to support the connection, the creativity, and the community that so many find at Asheville Community Theatre.
